Join the Summit September 23,
9am - 4pm PT

This all-day Zoom event is an opportunity for youth, youth organizations, curriculum developers, climate experts and government officials to come together to redesign education and collaborate on an approach that steers humanity in a more sustainable direction.

In This Summit,
We Will …

  • Hear youth’s unvarnished perspectives and innovative ideas about transforming education
  • Create a space for youth to collaborate on meaningful redesigns of education
  • Address how the loneliness crisis and lack of trust models prevents and impacts youth’s ability to proactively solve the climate crisis
  • Address the importance of preparation for a rapidly changing world
  • Collaborate on effecting curriculum changes in the time necessary
  • Learn how the Phoenix Platform can amplify youth voices and support their intentions while providing opportunities to be a part of climate solutions and free education

SUMMIT GOALS

  • 1

Discover pathways to empower youth, women and underrepresented groups by redesigning the educational system from the ground up.

  • 2

Examine the impact of AI on current and future education, considering its alignment with addressing the climate crisis, while also exploring the potential utilization of AI and technology tools for the near-term redesign of the educational system.

  • 3

Explore how the educational system can be transformed to result in green jobs creation and venues for application of the necessarily acquired skills.

  • 4

Determine the requirements and preferences of young adults so that AI systems and global education designs can map to their preferences, ideas and statements so that the world they live in is intentional and one they are supported in creating.

  • 5

Establish and develop an ongoing educational environment and workshop model and strategy that fosters ongoing youth collaboration to magnify their efforts in climate crisis resolution. Workshops will enable collaboration on transforming the existing educational systems and empowering youth to affect their intentions and capacities driving essential global change.

  • 6

Create a space for educational experts to be in collaborative conversation with all young people, and especially marginalized and diverse young people to optimally align their efforts and understandings in order to improve educational offerings and assuredly meet the rapidly changing educational needs of the world's young people in order to empower them to collectively build a new and sustainable future.

WE NO LONGER LIVE IN THE WORLD OF THE 1950'S

Hence, transforming education to meet the demands that young people will experience must rapidly occur. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to empower the next generations.

The summit will feature youth from around the world, exploring the necessity of global approaches to unity and solutions to long term challenges given today's reality.

Leading up to this Summit, we partnered with Youth Climate Action Team to learn what is most important to youth in education. In these conversations, we learned that:

Youth want to be met with a higher level of sophistication. They want to be empowered to learn about the crises that are occurring, even though many adults think they are too young to understand.

Youth want climate curriculum integrated into their educational experience and to be empowered to work with and uplift others in the divided world we now share.

Students are frustrated at spending the first twenty years of their lives in a system that maintains the status quo, rather than one that can empower and support them in creating a world and future that works.

Youth recognize that the traditional strategy of getting good grades and going to college will no longer guarantee the bright future and that a new approach, one that addresses the current reality is now required.

The threats posed by climate change to food, water and other resources, combined with the emergence of the automation era and AI, present children of the future with hugely different realities to navigate. Join the WSS Youth Climate Summit to weigh in on these pressing issues and collaborate globally with a community dedicated to solving the climate crisis in the time necessary!

TESTIMONY

"The summit for me was such a revival and heart-warming session. I met Rajesh, who shared his work with regard to fighting climate. The whole discourse was such a beautiful container for me, filled with information and understanding of the systems governing us, versus the disconnect of what the imminent and most important urge for the future is."
