What Is the Carbon Footprint of Bottled Water?

We know that plastic is bad for nature, rivers, lakes and oceans but what’s the environmental impact beyond this? What is the carbon footprint of manufacturing of plastic, filling the bottles, transportation and end of life depositing or recycling?

How Raging Wildfires Could Break the Global Carbon Budget

As worsening wildfires emit record levels of carbon, global forests could become a source rather than a store of the planet-heating greenhouse gases.

As businesses and municipalities grapple with the plastic pollution scientists say is causing a global crisis, sporting events are rapidly implementing new initiatives that reduce their trash, and stadiums are becoming helpful testing grounds.

A Consumer’s Guide to Reducing Pollution

A surprising amount of pollution starts at home. The car you drive, the household and personal care products you buy, the chemicals and equipment you use to keep your lawn and garden in shape all contribute to water and air pollution. But there are consumer choices you can make that will reduce your environmental footprint.

Are Corporate Climate Change Pledges Legitimate?

Climate change is a global problem that requires global solutions. That means every sector of society — citizens, local and national governments, corporations and businesses — has a role to play in limiting global temperature rise.

The Plastic Bag Store | Climate Change and Plastics Pollution

“Every year Americans go through billions of plastic bags. We often use them once, for a short amount of time, then they’re tossed in the trash. But it’s the kind of garbage that takes centuries to decompose. The artist Robin Frohardt wanted to draw attention to the problem, so she created an immersive art exhibition inside a storefront in Times Square called “The Plastic Bag Store.” The pop-up exhibition looks like a grocery store, but instead of food, visitors will see hand-sculpted items like cereal boxes, bananas and ice cream, all made from the discarded plastic bags and single-use plastics Frohardt collected.” –Marisa Mazria Katz for MARKETPLACE
