Every Friday, as part of the EmpowerED program, WSS holds a collaborative educational event where we learn about climate crisis efforts from individuals and organizations across the world, thereby developing pathways in which we can work together to solve the climate crisis. Speakers present for 30 minutes followed by time for Q & A and discussion.
This coming Friday, March 29th at 9:00 AM PST / 12:00 PM EST, we will be hearing from I’m Buyana Delphin Joseph, the visionary Founder and Executive Director of Innovation Talent Academy (ITA), a charitable nonprofit, organization founded in 2020 with a resolute vision to empower and uplift marginalized youth, particularly those in refugee communities. ITA is a refugee-led organization, driven by the belief that every young person, regardless of their circumstances, possesses untapped potential and the ability to transform their lives.
ITA’s mission centers on empowering young refugees, people with disabilities, single mothers, and others facing adversity through vocational and entrepreneurship skills, education, and livelihood support. By fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment, ITA aims to build a community of resilient individuals who can overcome challenges and contribute positively to society.
Buyana, the founder, is a dynamic young entrepreneur of the age of 23, who brings a wealth of experience as an entrepreneurship and leadership trainer, mentor, and facilitator. Delphin’s journey includes impactful roles at Youth Initiatives for Development in Africa (YIDA) and his brainchild, ITA.
In this session, Buyana will be speaking about empowerment for vulnerable populations through handcraft product from plastic waste.
