Our current education system was created in alignment with past societal values that did not include sustainability and other crucial elements such as equity, inclusion and justice. Thus, by design, it supports and perpetuates a system that brought about the climate crisis. Recognizing this fundamental flaw is our first step.

What skills might people in the future need to generate ethical and sustainable solutions, and how can education be designed to provide them?

Being able to adapt and respond to a rapidly changing environment, collaborate with one another, shift values and engage in real-world problem solving will benefit young people today as well as tomorrow.

Given the rapid rate at which both the environment and technology are changing, it is difficult to anticipate what challenges lie ahead.

To equip students for an uncertain future, it is optimal to prepare future leaders with strong skills and the capacity to co-create ethical and sustainable solutions. Tomorrow's humanity may require tools beyond knowledge, such as intuition, self-management, technological and creative problem-solving skills, discernment and compassion.

The outcomes of these sessions will be integrated into the PHOENIX Platform, where they can be shared globally and used to create adaptable and scalable educational models for all communities.

Carollynn Hammersmith is an accomplished program director and trustworthy AI leader specializing in educational technology. With extensive experience in IT program management, she has been instrumental in expanding AI-driven educational solutions and leading Responsible AI initiatives.

Carollynn's work details best practices for organizations to mitigate the risks of bias in AI, ensuring that AI systems are ethical and effective. Her approach to AI strategy includes a comprehensive three-part offering: fostering cultural adoption to scale AI safely, employing AI engineering with forensic tools for transparency in black box algorithms and implementing governance to ensure that the engineering aligns with the established culture

Howard Martin is one of the original leaders who helped Doc Childre found HeartMath. In 1999 he co-authored The HeartMath Solution published by HarperSanFrancisco and he has been with HeartMath’s world-wide training and consulting team since its inception in 1991. In 2016 he co-authored Heart Intelligence—Connecting with the Intuitive Guidance of the Heart which charted on Amazon at #1 in three categories and in 2019 he produced The HeartMath Experience, a cinematic learning experience that has been featured in film festivals, found on Gaia, Amazon Video, Apple TV and more.

During his career with HeartMath, he has been instrumental in business development and in delivering HeartMath’s practical, yet dynamic, programs to thousands of participants world-wide. Because of his universal appeal, he has conducted training programs and keynote presentations in Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, all four branches of the U.S. military, school systems, ecumenical organizations and through publicly promoted events in over 50 cities on four continents.

In 2008 he played a key role in launching the Global Coherence Initiative and serves as a Steering Committee member for this science based project created to unite millions of people in heart-focused care and intention to shift global consciousness.

Howard is a key HeartMath spokesperson, conducting approximately 50 media interviews annually. He speaks internationally on developing new intelligence needed to navigate life during changing times. He is featured in many current documentary movies including The Power of the Heart, The Truth and The Living Matrix.

Cindy Forde is a thought leader and acclaimed author with over 25 years dedicated to systems change. In 2023, she won the Change Champion Award alongside leaders such as David Attenborough and Malala Yusufzai.

Her ground-breaking children's book, Bright New World, Building a Better Planet, garnered critical acclaim, selected among the best new children's books by The Guardian and hailed as "outstanding" by New Scientist. It has been adopted by the Australian National Curriculum.

She is the founder of Planetari, pioneering Earth-led education, earning a Climate Positive Award at UN COP28. Previously MD of Blue Marine Foundation and CEO of Cambridge Science Centre, she has an MSc in Sustainability and Business Practice, is guest faculty at University of Cambridge's Homerton Change Makers programme, she serves on the Steering Committee of She Changes Climate among other boards. She was named a Shero for Black History Month 2023 by Environment Magazine and is currently writing a book on colonization and climate change.
